PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

“Carolee’s greatest gift is the power of her presence. I’ve learned how to trust again, through her non-judgmental, comforting attention.”

“I had been in traditional talk therapy, but it was not helping with my weekly migraines.  Through Innerdance I have learned how to listen to my body, recognize cut off emotions and integrate my body, mind, and spirit.  My headaches have decreased in frequency, but just as importantly, I feel more comfortable in my own skin.”

“I’ve never been in a group where I felt so free to say anything I’m feeling.  Carolee is a great support and I appreciate how she often seems to know what I am thinking or feeling.”

“I went to Innerdance because I wanted to give myself permission to play.  Through these sessions I’m learning to fully feel and become more alive.”

“I’ve learned to let my body speak – it tells me what is going on and helps lead me to what to do next.”

SOME WORK EXPERIENCES

Carolee has taught dance and practiced DMT in upper N.Y. State and Canada for over 30 years.  She has worked at several places in Rochester, including Neurorehab Assoc., Children’s Convalescent Hospital, Park Ridge Eating Disorder & Chemical Dependency Programs.

She has taught stress management for Cornell University and has served as a consultant for businesses. At the Museum Science Center she has lead a course called "Movement and Thinking Patterns," leading others to explore their mind/body links through four basic patterns of muscle coordination.  This helps people to better understand their own proclivities, as well as their significant others’; how their actions and behaviors are affected by their biology.

Currently she is in private practice - consulting, leading groups, and working with individuals in her Innerdance studio.Carolee led the Unitarian Dance Choir for 11 years, helping others choreograph and regularly add dance to the church services there.  She particularly likes working with people to create dance that can be incorporated into spiritual settings.
She worked at the Monroe County Office for the Aging and Oasis for 12 years, and is particularly adept at encouraging people to continue to keep active, even with physical limitations due to arthritis, stroke, high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis, etc
